meet the Dermapen 4.

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles.

These “micro-injuries” do not leave scars. They work by helping to stimulate the skin to repair itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling. This process starts with inflammation, which stimulates the skin to produce new collagen (the elastic fibers that make skin tight, smooth, and youthful). Collagen levels in the skin decline as we age, and new collagen can be produced when the skin is in repair mode.

The DP4 delivers the ultimate in advanced microneedling and can create an astounding 1,920 puncture channels per second, up to 104% faster than other microneedling devices. This device also has 16 needles, beating its competitors.

The micro-channels created by the Dermapen can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients deeper into the skin, making your skin care more effective. Successfully reduce signs of aging, pigmentation, acne, stretch marks, and so much more, for a healthy glowing complexion.

about microneedling.

Duration: 45 minutes total, with 10 minutes of microneedling (for a facial treatment).

Steps in the treatment:

  1. Cleanse and apply an anti-bacterial solution. (Topical anesthetic can be added on depending on the desired depth).

  2. Apply a glide to the first section of the face.

  3. Microneedle section by section, applying glide as we go.

  4. Apply a cooling sheet mask immediately after.

  5. Finish with a moisturizer and SPF.

post treatment care

-For best results please follow the recommended skin care regimen outlined by your technician.

Please avoid the following for 2 days following a microneedling treatment:

-Direct sun exposure (sun or tanning beds)

-Spray or self tanning

-Intensive cardio or exercise

-Excessively hot showers, saunas or spas

-Further cosmetic treatments

-Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean

-Tattooing or permanent makeup

FAQs

  • During the treatment it feels like a warm scratching sensation. Immediately after the treatment the area may feel hot, but we use a cooling mask that takes away any warmth instantly.

  • This is dependent on the person and also what is being treated. Our device has varying needle depths depending on the concern we want to treat. For concerns needing a deeper needle depth we offer a topical local anesthetic (numbing cream) for client comfort. Most people say it’s slightly uncomfortable but very tolerable.

  • This depends on what the concern is. Results can be seen after 1 treatment but a series of treatments will get you optimal results. Some choose to do it routinely for maintenance purposes. I always suggest starting with a series of 3.

  • Depends on the concern, but anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks

  • Yes!

  • Normally, no. Although this is up to the comfort level of the client. You’ll have visible redness (similar to a sunburn) on the area for 1-2 days afterwards. Much of the redness dissipates after 2 hours but lingering redness can last a couple days. Some may choose to schedule the appointment when they know they can afford a day or two of downtime, others go straight back to work.

  • Any skin type and any age is suitable for microneedling!

  • Pin point blood is common with microneedling, but it should be very minimal. The term “vampire facial” is outdated and misleading as you shouldn’t be covered in blood at any point.
